Job Summary:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate Classroom Support Assistant to join one of our partner SEN schools in the Northampton area. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children with complex needs and a strong commitment to supporting students' academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons to students with complex needs.
  • Provide individualized support to students on a 1:1 basis, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting students with severe learning needs.
  • Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of students' progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted interventions.
  • Support the class teacher in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience working with children with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and support staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor, with the ability to manage challenging behaviors.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a desire to learn and grow in the role.
