Role Overview: We are excited to announce an excellent opportunity to join the Motor Personal Injury Team at Ageas UK. As a Motor Injury Claims Specialist, you will take charge of a portfolio of motor claims involving injuries to third parties, overseeing each claim from initial notification through to resolution.

Your responsibilities will include investigating and negotiating claims presented by third-party claimants and their representatives, ensuring compliance with company best practices as well as statutory and regulatory requirements. Your goal will be to manage costs effectively while providing exceptional service to our customers.

You will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, necessitating strong verbal, written, and listening skills. While you will work independently, you will receive guidance and support from a Team Leader. As part of a cohesive team, you will leverage collective knowledge and experience to achieve optimal claim settlements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of personal injury claims from notification to settlement, with authority to handle claims up to £100,000.
  • Process claims including OIC, MOJ, Small Track, Fast Track, and Multi Track.
  • Proactively manage claims to control costs, focusing on Third Party claims management, including injury, credit hire, and repairs.
  • Ensure claims are handled in accordance with company and departmental best practices, as well as statutory and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to confirm claims are within policy coverage and legal liabilities.
  • Maintain accurate reserves that reflect the company's true liabilities for each claim.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all clients, both internal and external.
  • Take ownership of complaints, documenting details accurately and resolving them in line with company policy.
  • Identify and investigate potentially fraudulent claims.
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced team members.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a role as a Motor Personal Injury Negotiator or similar.
  • Strong understanding of insurance principles.
  • Familiarity with OIC, MOJ, Small Track, Fast Track, and Multi Track claims is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to absorb and analyze information and evidence.
  • Proactive, effective, and independent work ethic.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the claims environment, including relevant protocols, legislation, and litigation processes.
  • Strong investigative skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Competent decision-making capabilities.
  • Awareness of cost management and control.
  • Proven track record of continuous personal development.
  • Chartered Insurance Institute qualification or equivalent legal qualification is advantageous.
