Unlock Your Potential in Analytical Development

British American Tobacco is seeking a talented Undergraduate Intern to join our Research and Development team in Southampton. As a key member of our Analytical Development team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art mass spectrometry equipment and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, validate, and test automated workflows for mass-spectrometry-based non-targeted analysis in R&D projects
  • Design and implement data analysis programs to interpret complex spectral data
  • Collaborate with experienced scientists in laboratory experiments for R&D projects
  • Develop and optimize analytical methods for measuring constituents of modern oral products
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Forensic Science, or a related discipline
  • Awareness of analytical and chemical sciences
  • Basic knowledge of mass spectrometry
  • Experience with data analysis and programming languages such as Python or R
