About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Renewables PR Account Manager to join our team at Pier, a leading integrated communications agency. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing strategies and activities for our renewables clients, ensuring that programmes and objectives are being adhered to, and that their accounts are well organised.

Key Responsibilities
  • Media Relations
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists and creators in the renewables sector
    • Drive the media relations programme for all clients, including proactive seeking and identifying opportunities to ensure the best outcomes are achieved
    • Negotiate major media promotions and advertorials
  • Written Content
    • Write coherent and factually accurate press releases that only require exceptional amends from seniors and clients
    • Draft feature copy for trade, corporate and business publications for clients that is well informed and appropriate to the end user with minimal client or media amendment
    • Amend and improve press releases, internal copy for newsletters etc. drafted by account executives
  • Meetings and Presentations
    • Lead meetings, ensuring that preparation is well organised and that account directors or seniors are fully briefed on meeting contents
    • Take a key role in presentations to existing clients and at new business pitches
  • General Skills
    • Have a good understanding and knowledge of the renewable energy industry
    • Lead new business brainstorms and have a creative input in all new business pitches within account group
    • Play an important role in securing new business for the company, including initial research and approaching targets
