Geriatrician Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Geriatrician to join our team at NHS. As a key member of our medical leadership team, you will provide expert care and guidance to our patients, particularly those with complex frailty needs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in General Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, with a minimum of 4-5 years of training at ST3+ level. You will be responsible for supervising junior or middle-grade medical staff and will be supported to undertake formal training in educational supervision.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing medical leadership and professional accountability for patients under your care
- Building on existing relationships with primary and community care services to identify risk factors and signpost patients to supportive services
- Coordinating specialist multi-disciplinary meetings to ensure robust care plans for patients
- Developing and delivering excellent care to our local population

Key relationships will include other specialty consultants, trauma and orthopaedics, surgeons, integrated transfer team, director for medicine and clinical support, operational managers, GPs, primary care frailty leads, and community services.
The job plan will be discussed with the successful candidate and will depend on their special interest, such as general geriatrics, frailty, orthogeriatric, surgical liaison, and community service provision.
