Geriatrician Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician to join our team as a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide medical leadership and professional accountability for patients under your care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical leadership and professional accountability for patients under your care.
- Work within the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective team working in the provision of acute care to patients.
- Build on existing good relationships with primary and community care services to identify risk factors and signpost patients to services that support independence and reduce crisis incidence.
- Deliver community sessions in the community as part of the MDT, leading clinical management and auditing outcomes as part of educational forums.
- Primary medical qualification recognized in the General Medical Council.
- Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP).
- Relevant certificate of completion of training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) or entry on specialist registration within 6 months or applied for entry.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council.
- SCE Geriatric Medicine.
- Diploma in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent.
- 4-5 years training at ST3 and above level in General Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
- Wide training in all relevant aspects of medicine.
- Interest and significant experience in Geriatric Medicine and Frailty.
- Daily independent ward rounds on acutely ill patients.
- Comprehensive patient management.
- Ability to make decisions at Consultant level and takes full and independent responsibility for the care of patients.
- Evidence of experience in the clinical management of elderly patients.
