COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR - Permanent Role Division: Civil Engineering

GRAHAM Group is seeking a motivated Community Engagement Coordinator to join our dedicated Social Value team.

In the Civil Engineering division, the successful candidate will assist in implementing project-specific social value initiatives within the communities we serve. This role involves fostering partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders, including social value and sustainability professionals, project teams, local community organizations, and our supply chain. Additionally, the role includes monitoring and reporting on social value efforts.

Due to the nature of the position, regular travel between project sites will be necessary, and flexibility to attend events outside of standard working hours is required.

A valid driving license is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

General Duties Assist the Social Impact Manager in researching, designing, delivering, and reporting on social impact across various projects in Northern Ireland. Collaborate with project teams, clients, and key local stakeholders to ensure community activities and strategies are relevant, maximize positive outcomes, and meet contractual obligations. Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices through research and engagement with internal and external experts, forums, and steering groups. Social Impact / KPI Activities Support the creation and execution of project-specific social value plans. Lead and assist in organizing project and outreach events, including employee engagement activities, site visits, recruitment fairs, and internal events. Aid in the recruitment of new entrants and local individuals in alignment with project needs. Collaborate with local educational institutions to provide curriculum support, career guidance, and work experience opportunities. Partner with local employability organizations to develop pre-employment workshops, programs, and employer insight opportunities for job seekers. Engage with Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise organizations to explore and develop initiatives that deliver lasting impact, such as volunteering and in-kind contributions. Coordinate with the supply chain to ensure appropriate contributions towards project targets and activities, identifying opportunities for support. Monitoring & Reporting Responsibilities Assist in producing progress and update reports for project teams, senior management, and clients. Document social value activities in external databases/systems in accordance with contractual requirements. Record social value reporting outcomes in GRAHAM's internal monitoring database. Collect, extract, and analyze data to support themed social value case studies and positive stories for internal and external promotion. Maintain a database of external stakeholders. Additional Duties & Responsibilities Conduct local needs analysis to inform our Social Value offerings within bids and proposals to support business development teams. Research new initiatives for sustainable social impact, network within local communities, and innovate. Create case studies to promote social value activities on the company website and other platforms. Suggest and share relevant best practice ideas to assist Project Management teams with their community-focused activities. Support the Social Impact Manager in promoting site-specific health and wellbeing initiatives. Advocate for Fairness, Inclusion, and Respect practices on projects. Collaborate with other departments to meet business needs and enhance social value delivery. Identify social value-related awards and work with internal teams to develop award-winning submissions. Encourage staff participation in social value projects and initiatives.
