Lawes Insurance Recruitment is seeking a skilled Construction Underwriter to join our team in London. As a Construction Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in evaluating risks and selecting assets for our clients' portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite insurance risks in alignment with business objectives, negotiating rates, terms, and conditions for existing and new business.
  • Stay up-to-date with Construction claims, providing input on settlements to inform future Underwriting strategies.
  • Assist in coordinating Risk Engineering activities for the existing portfolio, reviewing Risk Survey reports and seeking additional information when necessary.
  • Contribute to and influence the review and analysis of the portfolio, identifying progress toward business objectives.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of entries in relevant systems, maintaining precision in data related to underwriting and aggregate exposures.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and best practices to mitigate risk.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience within the construction sector of the insurance industry, ideally with a focus on industrial lines.
  • Proficiency in analysing and utilising data to make informed decisions.
  • Thorough understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks.
