About Avencia Consulting

We are working with a leading Specialty Insurer based in the City, who are looking to hire an Assistant Underwriter to join their Construction team.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to provide underwriting support to the Construction Underwriting team within the wider D&F property team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with day-to-day underwriting duties, including reviewing and underwriting new opportunities, liaising with brokers, and managing credit control issues.
  • Attend regular broker meetings to generate new leads and build relationships with key broking partners.
  • Represent the business at market events and work collaboratively with other members of the construction team.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of data entry and liaise with Underwriters to confirm policy issuance instructions.
  • Work collaboratively with Underwriters and Head of Department to ensure ESG standards are met.
