About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional to join our team at Royal IHC Ltd in the Port of Blyth facility. As the Lead HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for managing the company's HSE policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-quality HSE service to the business, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, customers, and contractors.
  • Conduct regular HSEQ reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work to minimize risks and ensure compliance with company policies and legislation.
  • Promote a positive safety culture within the workplace and ensure that all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Requirements:

  • A recognized HSE qualification, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or British Safety Council certification.
  • Proven experience in a Health and Safety role or a role with exposure to safety risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Industry knowledge and analytical skills to interpret technical information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to identifying potential HSE issues and implementing solutions.

Notes:

  • This role may involve national and international travel.
  • A driving license is essential.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours to support on-site teams during periods of testing, complex lifts, etc.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
