About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our Technical Services Team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a Technical Services Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in providing professional, clinical, and technical support to our Technical Services Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy services to wards and clinical areas, including cancer, nutrition, pediatrics, and gastroenterology.
  • Assist Senior Pharmacists in maintaining a safe and efficient service for all sites of Barts Health NHS Trust and external customers.
  • Ensure the Quality Management System is maintained in accordance with license requirements and aid development in response to changes in regulations and legislation.
  • Work within operational parameters, agreed standard procedures, and systems of work to ensure a high level of GMP and safety is maintained.
  • Undertake projects in support of quality improvement, operational efficiency, and cost reduction programs.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Pharmacy (MPharm)
  • Specialist postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Experience in post-registration hospital experience
  • Experience in providing a clinical pharmacy service to wards
  • Previous clinical pediatric or neonatal experience
  • Proven experience of good performance in previous posts, where relevant
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Specialist postgraduate certificate in Technical Services (national course Technology and Quality Assurance)
  • Clinical/Technical Modules or equivalent experience: Paediatrics, Nutrition, Parenteral Therapy, Risk Management, Train Trainer, Clinical Trials, Formulations, Stability
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Line Management experience
