We are excited to present an opportunity for a Procurement Coordinator to join a dynamic homewares organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a designated brand, category, and product line within the Buying and Product team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Buying Assistant and collaborate with various departments to ensure timely product launches using the critical path.
- Achieve optimal pricing, quality, and service levels, with final approval from the Product Manager.
- Focus on specific brand, category, and product ranges aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
- Conduct thorough research to identify the best suppliers and products based on pricing and quality benchmarks.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers through regular communication, both online and in-person at manufacturing sites.
- Monitor and report on stock movements and product sales performance, assisting in range reviews and decision-making processes.
- Organize and manage bi-annual SKU and pricing review meetings.
- Coordinate with different business functions to ensure accuracy in coding, costs, currencies, and terms.
- Oversee the inspection of incoming samples to confirm they meet specified requirements.
- Work closely with the team to ensure all purchase orders are accurately processed and deliveries align with assigned orders.
- Support the training and development of the Buying Assistant, delegating responsibilities with appropriate oversight and regular review sessions.
- Engage in ad hoc tasks and projects as directed by the Product Manager.
- Assist the senior team with New Product Development research, market trend analysis, and competitor assessments.
- Participate in brand-specific product development initiatives.
- Attend tradeshows and travel for sourcing and factory visits.
- Manage product data within PMI/Sage 200, including technical specification sheets.
Previous Experience:
Experience in purchasing or procurement, particularly within a retail or homewares context, is advantageous. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, forecast trends, and evaluate market opportunities.
