Job Overview
The Clinical Biochemistry Department at Oxford University Hospitals provides laboratory services to hospitals and general practices. Due to increased biochemistry testing, we have a vacancy for an Associate Practitioner.
We invite candidates with good laboratory knowledge and skills to apply for this role, which builds on their skill set for more specialist biochemical areas of testing.
The Department of Clinical Biochemistry is one of the largest laboratory services within the Trust, analyzing over 1 million tests per year across a wide range of testing areas.
Main Duties of the Job
Prepare specimens for manual/specialist section of the laboratory, including specimen requesting, pre-analytical sample handling, and analysis on automated instrumentation.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of testing purposes and laboratory analysers.
Run analysers following standard operating procedures, applying health and safety considerations and quality management requirements.
