Job Overview

As an Environmental Compliance Specialist at ASSYSTEM, you will play a crucial role in managing our environmental permits and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

This position is ideal for individuals with expertise in environmental permitting, particularly within the context of large-scale infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of committed environmental and sustainability experts who will guide you throughout your professional journey.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Overseeing environmental permitting initiatives from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Drafting Environmental Permit applications for various activities and emissions affecting water, land, and air during different construction phases.
  • Generating and interpreting technical reports.
  • Offering specialized advice and evaluating performance/compliance for specific site operations in conjunction with the site-based environmental team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with the UK environmental permitting framework and management of permit submissions.
  • Experience working with UK environmental regulatory bodies (e.g., EA, NRW, or SEPA) is preferred.
  • Capability to analyze scientific reports and integrate findings into permit applications for waste, water, and air.
  • A demonstrated history of enhancing environmental compliance across relevant sectors, with skills in conducting environmental audits and investigations, supported by a recognized qualification.
  • Ability to work autonomously while showcasing strong communication and influencing abilities.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French is a plus.
