About Us: Neo Environmental Ltd is a leading planning and environmental consultancy that provides expert services to clients across various industries.
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team as a Renewable Energy Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking ecological surveys, producing comprehensive reports, and liaising with clients and statutory consultees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ecological Surveys: Undertake ecological surveys, including phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species scoping surveys, and bat surveys.
- Report Writing: Produce comprehensive reports, including preliminary ecological appraisals, ecological impact assessments, EIA chapters, biodiversity management plans, protected species reports, and Appropriate Assessments/Natura Impact Statements.
- Liaison and Communication: Liaise with clients and statutory consultees, attend client and site meetings, and undertake ECoW role where required.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in ecology or similar.
- Experience: Significant professional report writing experience, good knowledge of ecological legislation and regulations, experience of phase 1 habitat surveys, and technical competence.
- Skills: Attention to detail, reliability, good organisational skills, flexibility, and willingness to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays.
- Qualifications: Full driving license and own transport.
Desirable Criteria:
- CIEEM Accreditation: CIEEM accredited.
- Postgraduate Experience: Demonstrable postgraduate experience in ecology surveys.
- Ornithology Experience: Ornithology experience would be advantageous.
- Bat Survey Experience: Bat survey experience.
- GWDTE Experience: GWDTE experience.
- Ecological Clerks of Works (ECoW) Experience: Ecological Clerks of Works (ECoW) experience.
- GIS Skills: Knowledge or experience using ArcGIS or similar.
- Other Protected Species Survey Experience: Other protected species survey experience.
