Job Title: Environmental Scientist/Engineer


About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis, a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy firm. As a key member of our Environment, Waste and Radiological Services capability group, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients in the nuclear industry.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide technical expertise in environmental permitting and Best Available Techniques (BAT) assessments, waste management strategy development, and radioactive waste characterisation and inventory.
  • Support our clients in the nuclear industry, including new build clients, defence facilities, generation stations, and decommissioning sites.
  • Develop and implement environmental and waste management documentation to demonstrate compliance with nuclear site licence and environmental permit conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects and provide specialist advice to clients.

Requirements


  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry, with a strong understanding of environmental permitting and waste management.
  • Excellent technical skills, with the ability to develop and implement complex environmental and waste management solutions.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a strong attention to detail and quality.
