Role Overview:
The position of Senior Electrical Technician is crucial in supporting the Technical Supervisor and Workplace Director in delivering high-quality reactive and planned maintenance services for building engineering systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is committed to excellence and best practices in the field of electrical and mechanical maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and COSHH regulations, maintaining compliance with all company policies.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for both reactive and planned maintenance tasks to guarantee safe working conditions.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Demonstrate electrical competency, particularly in accordance with BS7671 18th Edition, and possess confidence in electrical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and installation.
  • Perform general mechanical preventive and reactive maintenance tasks, including plumbing duties.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on equipment, utilizing manufacturer manuals and technical drawings as necessary.
  • Manage small works projects as directed by the Technical Supervisor, collaborating with the projects and construction team.
  • Act as the Control of Works Authorised Person (AP) and assist in identifying other relevant APs and Competent Persons (CPs).
  • Ensure all repairs and installations comply with current regulations and standards.
  • Read technical diagrams and communicate technical information effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in the handover and 'snagging' of new installations, ensuring systems are operational and maintainable.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment in accordance with current regulations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the building to identify and rectify faults promptly.
  • Support the management of subcontracted services, ensuring high standards are maintained in line with client expectations.
  • Monitor service delivery and supplier performance to ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs.
  • Promote and uphold the core values of CBRE at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Service Centre to ensure timely responses to maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate site logbooks and produce reports as required.
  • Manage stock levels of spare parts as necessary.
  • Participate in an emergency call-out service as required.
  • Perform other relevant duties as directed by management.

Person Specification:

  • Experience in facilities management.
  • Apprentice-trained engineer or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to balance strategic and tactical approaches to client satisfaction.
  • In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Effective conflict management and crisis resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proactive in seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
