About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic individual to join our team at METRO Charity as an Advice and Inclusion Coordinator. This role will involve working closely with our METRO GAD (Greenwich Association of Disabled People) team to provide an advice and support service for disabled people, focusing on hate crime in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and support to disabled individuals, addressing their needs and concerns related to hate crime.
- Collaborate with local statutory sector agencies to ensure effective service delivery and coordination.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including disabled people's organizations and community groups.
- Contribute to the development of inclusive policies and practices within METRO Charity, promoting equality and accessibility.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in disability support and advocacy.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of disability issues, hate crime, and the needs of disabled people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in advice and support work, preferably in a charity or voluntary sector setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
