Job Summary

Bureau Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Control Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Building Services department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control, electrical, and instrumentation systems within building environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement electrical distribution systems, including cable route planning, transformer selection, and switchgear specification.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other building services specialists to integrate CE&I systems into overall building infrastructure.
  • Manage CE&I aspects of building services projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget.
  • Produce detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, panel designs, control philosophies, and electrical distribution layouts.
  • Ensure all electrical and control systems meet applicable industry standards and building regulations, including health and safety guidelines.
  • Lead and participate in testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical and control systems within building projects.
Requirements
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation, Building Services Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a CE&I role with a focus on building services and electrical distribution.
  • Strong understanding of electrical load calculations, protection systems, earthing arrangements, and power distribution networks in building environments.
  • Experience with the design and installation of electrical distribution systems, including cable route planning, transformer selection, and switchgear specification.
  • Proficient in control systems design, PLC programming, and automation.
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) and ability to work on sensitive and regulated projects within the nuclear and defence sectors.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in the nuclear sector or on nuclear projects.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Familiarity with smart building technologies and IoT integration.
  • Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes.
