Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical)

Location: Hainault, Essex

Salary: £40k - £45k

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - Days

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Hainault, Essex. This hands-on role is essential to maximizing production uptime in our manufacturing facility, where we produce high-precision optics and accessories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform multi-skilled maintenance and mechanical repairs on industrial machines.
  • Operate machines, including manual lathes, milling, and drilling, to create bespoke tools and components.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Source or create specialist components and manage related supplies.
  • Assemble and erect machinery.
  • Maintain and repair building facilities as needed.
  • Work with bearings, pumps, valves, chains, and ensure health and safety compliance.
Requirements:
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing/industrial setting.
  • 3+ years' experience as a manual machinist.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards.
