About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team at Pertemps TM. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing commercial support to our design and consulting contracts, with a focus on highways and civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Tender and Contract Documents: You will be responsible for preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Track Changes and Adjust Budget: You will need to track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust the budget accordingly to ensure that our projects remain financially viable.
  • Risk, Value Management, and Cost Control: You will be responsible for performing risk, value management, and cost control to ensure that our projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Allocate Work to Subcontractors: You will need to allocate work to subcontractors and manage their performance to ensure that our projects are delivered to the required standard.
  • Provide Advice on Contractual Claims: You will be responsible for providing advice on contractual claims and disputes to ensure that our interests are protected.
  • Analyze Outcomes and Write Progress Reports: You will need to analyze the outcomes of our projects and write detailed progress reports to ensure that our stakeholders are informed.
  • Value Completed Work and Arrange Payments: You will be responsible for valuing completed work and arranging payments to ensure that our contractors are paid promptly.
Requirements
  • QS Related Degree or Equivalent: You will need to have a QS related degree or equivalent qualification to be considered for this role.
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: You will need to have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, to be able to perform your duties effectively.
  • Experience in Commercial Support: You will need to have experience in providing commercial support to design and consulting contracts, with a focus on highways and civil engineering projects.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Procurement: You will need to have experience in supply chain procurement, management, and accounting to be able to manage our contractors effectively.
  • Appreciation of Dispute Resolution: You will need to have an appreciation of the records, approaches, and options for dispute resolution and avoidance to be able to manage our contractual relationships effectively.
  • Experience in Commercial and Financial Budgeting: You will need to have experience in commercial and financial budgeting and reporting to be able to manage our projects effectively.
