About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Reading Borough Council. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to adults with complex learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centered care and support to individuals with complex needs, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each individual, working closely with colleagues and external partners.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a seamless and effective service delivery, maintaining high standards of care and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the well-being and safety of individuals.
Requirements
  • Qualification in Care (e.g., NVQ3/Level 3 Diploma in Care and Promoting Independence) or a commitment to attaining this qualification.
  • Experience of working with adults with complex learning disabilities, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery.
  • Competent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Packages such as Word and Outlook.
