Job Summary:

Oxford Instruments Plc is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our facilities team as a Facilities Maintenance Specialist. This role will be responsible for providing support to and maintaining our site, equipment, and wider facilities to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and Maintenance: Perform routine servicing and maintenance tasks on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Equipment Inspection and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a planned preventative maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the general maintenance of the facility, including coordinating small building works, production equipment repairs, and furniture/office moves.
  • CAD/Technical Drawing Production: Create technical drawings and specifications for projects, working closely with the design team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Asset Register Management: Maintain accurate records of all equipment and assets, ensuring compliance with statutory examinations and inspections.
  • Internal Customer Liaison: Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, providing solutions and support for facilities-related issues.
  • Contractor Management: Manage subcontractors, ensuring they have necessary qualifications, risk assessments, and method statements for each activity.
  • Health and Safety: Take personal responsibility for health and safety, complying with company arrangements for health, safety, and environmental protection.

Requirements:

  • GCSEs in Math, English, and Science
  • Genuine interest in a hands-on, practical role
  • Commitment to the apprenticeship program
