About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Mitie. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and secure operation of our Heathrow site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures to maintain security standards.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise security officers and guards to ensure they are equipped to respond to security threats.
  • Monitor and respond to security system alarms to coordinate a response from available resources.
  • Conduct targeted investigations in support of security, safety, disciplinary, and cargo recovery events.
  • Ensure all staff are recruited and trained in accordance with applicable UK legislation and regulations.
  • Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs and develop strategies to meet them.
  • Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events and incidents.
  • Review reports on incidents and breaches to identify areas for improvement.
  • Investigate and resolve issues promptly to minimize disruption to operations.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience as a security manager or similar position, with a strong understanding of security protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of security technology and equipment, including CCTV and X-RAY systems.
  • Experience in reporting and emergency response planning, with a strong commitment to security and safety.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with further education in security administration or a related field an asset.
