Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the product line strategy as part of the broader sustainable growth objectives of the brand within the organization. This role involves global leadership, management, and coordination of all product-related activities within the indoor lighting portfolio, focusing on goal setting, product brief creation, and serving as the primary interface for all stakeholders regarding product matters. The individual will oversee the Profit and Loss (P&L) for their product line, collaborating closely with respective application heads and supported by their product family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume overall global Product Management responsibility for designated product families within the brand.
- Manage a comprehensive global portfolio of luminaires, including associated software, hardware, and services, throughout their lifecycle, ensuring profitability aligns with company and sustainability strategies.
- Evaluate portfolio performance in collaboration with the brand to inform investment decisions.
- Work closely with Market Intelligence and Sales to analyze global market trends, technology advancements, competitor activities, and customer needs related to the product families.
- Leverage advanced product and competitor analysis methodologies to enhance the product portfolio and drive innovative solutions, aiming to lead the market.
- Identify customer requirements, technological trends, and competitive risks, proposing strategic positioning against competitors.
- Develop and articulate product strategies for each family, including short, mid, and long-term roadmaps, in alignment with brand objectives to achieve sales and market share targets.
- Facilitate innovation workshops for the product portfolio.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of customer-focused products, overseeing ideation, product specifications, and make-or-buy decisions while fostering disruptive innovations.
- Establish core positioning for each product family to inform marketing and pricing strategies.
- Drive strategic pricing initiatives in collaboration with application heads, managing SKU complexity across the global product portfolio.
- Act as a liaison between Sales, Marketing, Application PMO, and Product Development to achieve desired outcomes.
- Initiate and manage global product launches in alignment with the Global Launch Management Head.
- Conduct internal and external product presentations and in-depth training sessions for sales teams and other stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication with Product Development, Market Intelligence, Production, PMO, Application Heads, and Sales.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, innovation management, business administration, marketing, or related fields with a strong technical foundation.
- Proven experience in a lighting manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in product positioning within specific markets for established brands.
- Comprehensive understanding of product portfolio development, repositioning, and ranking for leading industry brands.
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills to assess current and future product requirements.
- Current knowledge of product management strategies, methodologies, tools, and lean processes.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time to support external market presence.
