We are working with a multi-award-winning company based in the South West of England in their search for a newly created Financial Controller position.

The Role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Finance Manager/Financial Controller to support growth plans. You will play a pivotal role in leading the day-to-day finance operations, overseeing a team of two part-time assistants, and working closely with the Senior Management Team. This role offers a unique blend of strategic input and hands-on financial management, making you a critical part of our Senior Management Team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and present accurate weekly and monthly financial reports to the Senior Management Team, ensuring operational and overhead costs are tightly controlled.
  2. Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including the processing of journals and investigating variances.
  3. Manage cash flow effectively, ensuring liquidity and financial stability.
  4. Oversee the payroll process with a strong understanding of payroll management.
  5. Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and manage end-of-year financial submissions.
  6. Lead the credit control process, ensuring timely collections and managing outstanding debts.
  7. Review and refine financial processes and procedures, ensuring they are efficient and scalable as the company grows.

About You

You are a confident and driven financial professional with the ability to impress and influence. Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Experience within the FMCG, Food & Drink, and online sectors is highly advantageous. Proven experience in a manufacturing accounting environment is essential. Proficient in Sage Accounting software (or similar) and advanced Excel skills, with a strong aptitude for financial analysis and reporting.
