Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Formulate comprehensive Sustainability Strategies.
  • Oversee the execution of environmental assessments (such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc.) from initial design through to project completion.
  • Conduct various modeling and assessments, including but not limited to: embodied carbon analysis, circular economy evaluations, building performance simulations, operational energy assessments, and energy generation analysis.
  • Assist clients in developing energy strategies that drive sustainability innovation across multiple projects.
  • Support the training and development of junior team members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on research and development initiatives to maintain our position at the forefront of industry knowledge.
  • Engage in research and development studies and contribute to the creation of industry guidance, providing opportunities for those interested in influencing the sector.

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills & Knowledge

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience in several of the following areas:

  • BREEAM, HQM, WELL, Fitwel assessments
  • Whole Life Carbon Assessments using methodologies such as OneClick
  • Development of tailored sustainability charters
  • Preparation of planning documents, including sustainability statements, energy reports, whole life carbon assessments, and circular economy documentation.
  • Strategies for achieving net zero carbon and conducting embodied carbon calculations.

Desirable Qualifications

  • BREEAM – qualified BREEAM Assessor or AP
  • WELL – qualified WELL AP
  • Passivhaus – qualified PH Designer or Consultant, or a solid understanding of the methodology
  • NABERS/DfP - familiarity with the methodology
  • Knowledge of IES software

You have experience in the built environment sector and are currently working in a sustainability or engineering consultancy, seeking a new challenge within a leading practice.

You bring expertise (with a degree in engineering or science and relevant experience) and a passion for developing sustainable solutions.
