Job Description

Job Title: Import Manager

Job Summary:

The Import Manager will be responsible for leading the import customer services function throughout Great Britain, monitoring all import actions, and liaising closely with HMM Europe LTD sales, logistics, and other offices. The successful candidate will promote good customer service performance, ensure high-quality staff performance, and offer clients a high level of communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the import customer services function, ensuring high-quality performance and efficient operations.
  • Monitor all import actions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Liaise closely with HMM Europe LTD sales, logistics, and other offices to ensure seamless operations.
  • Promote good customer service performance, encouraging staff to go above and beyond to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure high-quality staff performance, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Offer clients a high level of communication, ensuring they receive a quality service.
  • Monitor and take action to ensure customer needs are met and HMM Europe LTD interests are protected.
  • Oversee import delivery and release teams, ensuring processes are followed to enable release and delivery of containers.
  • Aware of analytical data to understand best practice scenarios surrounding VIP accounts.
  • Set and execute company policy for all import deep-sea and container trades related to UK imports.
  • Pass directives from senior management to all members of staff and customers with necessary guidance.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate or above level Excel mandatory, PowerPoint optional.
  • Knowledge and experience essential related to container imports and logistics.
  • Background in a global deep-sea carrier environment, port, logistics, and man management experience.
  • Able to deliver high-quality work to brief and on time.

Working Arrangements:

This role is based in our Southampton office 5 days per week. Ability to commute or relocate to Southampton is required.
