Job Title: Advanced Clinical Pharmacist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust. As an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a key role in providing specialist mental health clinical pharmacy services to GP practices and service users.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work alongside advanced clinical pharmacists and medicines optimisation technicians to provide specialist mental health clinical pharmacy services. You will be responsible for working with Kirklees Primary Care Networks, liaising with both primary care and secondary care colleagues to support those with mental health conditions being managed in primary care.

You will also be part of the wider South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust pharmacy team, with access to support, training, and supervision from experienced mental health pharmacy staff.

Main Duties
  • Provision of direct patient care, carrying out patient consultations and medication reviews for mental health medicines.
  • Rationalising and optimising medicines for mental health conditions.
  • Providing support regarding mental health medicines for those with long-term physical health conditions.
  • Prescribing where appropriate and qualified.
  • Supporting other healthcare professionals in relation to mental health medicines, including responding to queries and education and training.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Band 7 and 8.
  • Ability to undertake the duties and demands of the post.
  • A satisfactory sickness record over the previous 2 years.

Desirable

  • Specialist knowledge of mental health pharmacy.
  • Skilled in audit planning and delivery.

Training

Essential

  • Band 8.
  • Evidence of relevant training and ongoing professional development.

Desirable

  • Band 7.
  • Diploma in clinical pharmacy general, community, or psychiatric, or working towards.

Personal Attributes

Essential

  • Band 7.
  • Professional manner.
  • Adaptable.

Desirable

  • Band 7.
  • A Current driving licence and access to a car during the working day is essential.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Band 7.
  • Batchelor/Masters degree in Pharmacy.
  • GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.

Desirable

  • Band 8.
  • Membership of CMHP.
  • Membership of RPS.

Experience

Essential

  • Band 7.
  • Completed pre-registration training.
  • Substantial demonstrable experience of working post-registration as a pharmacist.

Desirable

  • Band 8.
  • Extensive experience of working within speciality Mental health pharmacy services at Senior (B7) level or above.
