We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our Mental Health Services team at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust. As an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a key role in providing specialist clinical pharmacy services to designated wards and teams within the Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the provision of a safe and effective specialist clinical pharmacy service to designated wards within SWYPFT.
- Assist Principal Pharmacist or Senior Clinical Pharmacist in the overall provision of pharmacy services to units or teams within SWYPFT.
- Deputise for Principal Pharmacist or Senior Clinical Pharmacist as appropriate.
- Contribute to the strategic direction for the development of clinical practice within specialist mental health pharmacy primary care and across the Trust as required.
- Lead on services consolidation as well as expansion in line with service and trust objectives and in partnership with the Clinical lead and General manager.
- Take the lead in extending boundaries and creating frameworks for the enhancement of clinical practice within their speciality.
- Work as an independent non-medical prescriber within areas as required and designated, taking responsibility for the clinical assessment of the patient, establishing a diagnosis and the clinical management required in accordance with the Trust's non-medical prescribing policy and protocols.
- Band 7 or 8 qualification and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Substantial demonstrable experience of working post-registration as a pharmacist, preferably in a mental health setting.
- Experience of working therapeutically within mental health medicines.
- Substantial experience in managerial or leadership roles.
- Experience of leading service development changes.
- Developed awareness of the evolving healthcare agenda and the implications for nursing.
- Experience of research and developing theory into practice.
- Evidence of facilitating quality improvement into practice.
- Developed knowledge of clinical governance issues.
- Experience of training and education.
