Birkbeck University of London is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Associate Tutor for the L4 Academic Skills for Psychology module.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the teaching team on the BSc Psychology programme, with a focus on preparing and delivering study skills-focused seminars, teaching, and marking assessments. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with students and contribute to their academic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning on the L4 Academic Skills for Psychology module
  • Prepare and deliver study skills-focused seminars
  • Mark assessments and provide feedback to students
  • Contribute to the development of teaching materials and resources
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to ensure high-quality student outcomes

Requirements

  • A first degree in Psychology or an equivalent relevant qualification
  • Advanced experience in using a range of statistical techniques and report writing suitable for quantitative psychological science research
  • A good working knowledge of SPSS
  • The ability to work both as part of a team and independently as appropriate
  • A willingness to engage in reflective practice

Working Arrangements

This is a fixed-term appointment for 11 weeks, working 3 hours per week on Mondays from 6pm to 9pm. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality teaching and support services.
