Role Overview
As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the construction activities under your supervision are executed with the utmost quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will:

  • Oversee construction activities to uphold the highest health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and surveyors to confirm that all setting out is accurate before work commences, while also mentoring junior engineers as necessary.
  • Ensure that all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are prepared and adhered to prior to the initiation of work.
  • Verify that Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Material Approval Requests (MARs) are established before work begins and are followed throughout the project.
  • Work alongside the discipline Supervisor to guarantee that the necessary plant, labor, and materials are identified and available in a timely manner.
  • Review project drawings and specifications to identify any discrepancies and communicate these to the project team through Technical Queries (TQs).
  • Maintain project schedules and identify potential opportunities, while recording resources and monitoring outputs against the timeline.
  • Engage with the project team regarding any non-conformances and contractual matters, keeping detailed records of resources utilized for additional works.
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily log, documenting any changes, variations, and specialist attendances, and provide a report to the construction manager or senior agent at the end of each shift.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC, HND, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng).
  • Proven experience in delivering complex structures and roadworks.
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
  • A valid CSCS Card.
  • Training in CAT & Genny.
  • Additional relevant training (preferred qualifications include Appointed Person, lifting training, temporary works coordination, and first aid/fire marshal).
  • A solid understanding of engineering principles along with extensive technical knowledge of construction methods and best practices.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts and forms of contract through formal education.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, document control systems, Primavera software).
