We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join our expanding team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of clinical processes to improve patient outcomes and experience.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise patients returning to the Acute Medicine Assessment Centre (ambulatory clinic)
- Provide medical expertise in Acute Medicine outpatients
- Offer educational and clinical supervision to junior doctors
- Attend and contribute to departmental and medical meetings
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We work collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership.
Our hospital provides 438 general and acute beds, while Ellesmere Port Hospital offers 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate, and outpatient facility. Tarporley War Memorial Hospital serves as a base for community services, catering to the local rural population.
We employ over 6258 staff, including temporary bank staff, and provide acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.
In 2022/2023, we had over 503,342 patient attendances, ranging from simple outpatient appointments to major cancer surgery.
