About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of clinical processes to improve patient outcomes and experience.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Acute Medicine and a strong educational background, with a CCT in Acute Medicine or General Medicine, or an alternative route to specialist registration. They will also have a relevant higher degree, such as an MD or PhD, and experience in undertaking and organizing audits or quality improvement projects.

The Trust is a busy district general hospital, and the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the Emergency Medicine Team and other medical specialties to provide comprehensive care to patients. They will also be involved in the development of clinical processes and educational programs to improve patient outcomes and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise patients returning to SDEC (ambulatory clinic)
  • Provide Acute Medicine outpatients services
  • Educational and clinical supervision of junior doctors
  • Attend and contribute to departmental and medical meetings
