Residential Childcare Officer - Waking Nights

Location: Gateshead

Hourly Rate: £13.02

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, alternate weekends

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Residential Childcare Officers in Gateshead. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential service.

About the Role:

As a Residential Childcare Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the daily needs of our service users, including their social, recreational, physical, and psychological well-being. You will work collaboratively with our team to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes the growth and development of our young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized care and support to service users, including personal care and daily living tasks
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of care plans that meet the unique needs of each service user
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Requirements:
  • Essential:
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity of service users
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
    • Reliable and honest
  • Desirable:
    • Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting
    • Qualifications in childcare or a related field
    • Ability to write and maintain care plans
