Residential Childcare Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Officer to join our team in Gateshead. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential service.

About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Officer, you will be responsible for providing care and support to children and young people, including their social, recreational, physical, and psychological needs. You will work closely with our team to ensure that each individual receives the best possible care and support to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people, including their social, recreational, physical, and psychological needs.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure that each individual receives the best possible care and support to thrive.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and young people, their families, and other professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that each individual's needs are met.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Essential:

  • Desirable:
    • Key worker experience.
    • Experience in the field of learning disabilities, mental health, or physical disabilities.
    • Experience of providing personal care.
    • Writing and maintenance of care plans.
    • Organising social and recreational activities.
    • Level 2 or 3 in Children's and Young People's Workforce.
