Job Title: Quarry and Recycling Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Quarry and Recycling Supervisor to join our team at Tarmac Trading Limited. As a Quarry and Recycling Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the quarry and recycling operations, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards, and driving operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise the contract crush and earth works contractors
  • Support the delivery of toolbox talks
  • Supervise all aspects of daily environmental, sustainability, and operational requirements of the quarry and recycling area
  • Ensure the permitted recycling area is operating compliantly in-line with its environmental permit/waste management license
  • Work to drive operational performance through KPIs
  • Timely resolution of queries assigned to the sector
  • Take responsibility for your own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
  • Ensure housekeeping is kept to a high standard

The Ideal Candidate:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of:

  • Quarry operations
  • Environmental, sustainability, and recycling programs
  • Previous experience of a Sand and Gravel Quarry environment
  • Previous experience of a recycling environment
  • Working knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems
  • Working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies

A role-associated qualification in Environmental or Sustainability would be highly beneficial. IOSH Managing Safely, NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations, and WAMITAB or equivalent qualification would also be highly beneficial.

The ideal candidate will be able to actively support the identification and implementation of site and process improvements, effectively communicate and look for opportunities to identify customer needs.
