About Carmoola

Carmoola is a leading fintech company specializing in car finance solutions. We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Lending to spearhead our Credit and Underwriting Strategy, Fraud Strategy, Credit Risk Management, and Pricing departments.

Your Role:

As the Director of Lending, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Carmoola's lending platform. You will lead and expand our talented team while overseeing key areas of credit and underwriting. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and executing comprehensive strategies to optimize decision-making processes, implementing testing frameworks to enhance performance and acceptance rates, and devising innovative solutions to mitigate fraud risks and manage bad debts effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to refine and enhance our lending platform.
  • Lead and expand the team responsible for credit and underwriting operations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to optimize decision-making processes across all lending functions.
  • Establish and oversee testing frameworks designed to improve performance and acceptance rates within our lending systems.
  • Design and execute innovative solutions to mitigate fraud risks and effectively manage bad debts.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of policy documents, and lead the credit committee in its decision-making processes.

Your Profile:

We are seeking a highly accomplished individual with a proven track record in fintech consumer lending. You possess a deep understanding of automated lending platforms and regulatory compliance within the financial services industry. Your expertise extends to responsible lending practices, credit risk management, and working with credit risk committees.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in fintech consumer lending.
  • Strong background in automated lending platforms.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and responsible lending practices.
  • Degree in a STEM or numerical field.
  • Experience working with credit risk committees.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in data science for decision-making.
  • Expertise in pricing strategy and fraud prevention.
