ACS Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their team in Northampton. As a key member of the logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the haulage team, coordinating and optimizing the movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities:- Work Allocation: Allocate work to couriers across all size fleets up to HGV's, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Booking Management: Take bookings accurately and advise clients of our services, providing clear and concise information.
- Job Monitoring: Monitor jobs through to POD and completion, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- SLA Implementation: Implement and maintain Service Level Agreements, ensuring high standards of customer service.
- Communication: Proactively keep clients and employees informed of any delays, issues, or deviations, maintaining open and transparent communication channels.
- Fleet Management: Ensure fleet size is sufficient to service clients, particularly during peak periods, optimizing resource allocation.
- Driver Performance: Ensure drivers achieve maximum revenue, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to increase earnings.
- Backload Management: Seek backloads for drivers, maximizing vehicle utilization and reducing downtime.
- Experience: Previous transport industry and HGV planning experience is essential, with a proven track record of success.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with clients, couriers, and suppliers, remaining professional at all times.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized and proactive, with a strong attention to detail.
- Customer Focus: Managing and exceeding customer expectations, providing exceptional service and support.
- Initiative: Acting on your own initiative without constant supervision, demonstrating a proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Geographical Knowledge: Good geographical knowledge, with the ability to navigate complex transportation networks.
- Computer Literacy: Computer literate, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
