Job Title: Lead Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner to join our team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the orthopaedic theatre department team and ensuring the day-to-day operation reflects the highest standard of governance, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care.

The role will involve managing designated elective orthopaedic theatres within Central Middlesex Hospital, including budgetary awareness, clinical governance, and staff development and training.

The ideal candidate will have extensive post-registration experience in elective orthopaedic and a strong background in theatre management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the orthopaedic theatre department team
  • Ensuring the highest standard of governance, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care
  • Managing designated elective orthopaedic theatres within Central Middlesex Hospital
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Providing professional leadership and direction to the team

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with theatre course and registered ODP, with a level 6 or above academic qualification.

They will also have extensive experience as a Band 6 Scrub Team Leader and a strong knowledge of elective Orthopaedic Scrub procedures.

The role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary: £51,883 to £58,544 per annum inclusive of HCAS.
