Long-Term Teachers Ltd is collaborating with a prominent Primary School in the BS4 region, actively seeking a dedicated SEMH Learning Mentor.
This school is a large establishment with two forms of entry, catering to a diverse student population. The committed staff strive to assist both pupils and their families in overcoming various challenges, both within and outside the educational environment.
With a significant demand for support, the team fosters a collaborative atmosphere, ensuring that all members look out for one another.
Role Overview:
The selected candidate will commence their role in the upcoming academic year, focusing on providing support to students with complex social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Responsibilities include working with students across all age groups, from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Year 6, and closely engaging with vulnerable individuals to help them manage their emotions and demonstrate appropriate social interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement effective positive behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDO) to understand the unique needs of each pupil.
- Possess prior experience in managing challenging behavior or working with SEMH.
- Demonstrate the ability to use initiative and maintain flexibility.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
