Senior Financial Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Assistant to join our Technical Accounting Team. As a Senior Financial Assistant, you will be responsible for providing financial accounting services to client organisations, including balance sheet reconciliations, VAT, capital, and charitable funds.
Key Responsibilities:- Reconcile and clear nominated balance sheet (control) accounts, ensuring accurate financial records and reporting in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLA) timetables and agreed procedures.
- Complete daily cash allocation and bank reconciliation for nominated clients, ensuring all payments received are analysed and correctly allocated to customer invoices or general ledger codes.
- Manage recharge accounts, ensuring prompt, accurate reconciliation, and timely clearance via invoice requests to Credit Controller to maximise client income.
- Reconcile VAT control accounts and input VAT returns under supervision by the Senior Assistant Accountant, reviewing consultants' reports, and assisting with VAT queries from clients.
- Assist with the completion of client organisations' Annual Statutory Accounts in line with the Department of Health requirements and liaise with External Auditors providing additional information when requested.
- Education to Level 4 (e.g. AAT level 4, NVQ 4) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience of computerised financial systems, including Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical skills with the ability to apply expertise and utilise technology.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with client organisations, outside agencies, and the general public in a courteous and dignified manner.
- Able to use own initiative and work to tight deadlines.
