A key Management Accountant and Finance Manager role is available at a leading Manufacturing / Engineering SME in Blackburn. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Finance and lead a small team of 3. The role involves ensuring all financial transactions are fully reconciled and recorded in line with company policy and accounting standards, as well as preparing monthly management accounts, including full P&L and Balance Sheet. The ideal candidate will have broad management and financial accounting experience, be comfortable leading a small team, and have previous experience of ERP systems, such as SAP. The role is office based and initially an assignment for six months, with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all financial transactions are fully reconciled and recorded in line with company policy and accounting standards
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including full P&L and Balance Sheet
* Oversee all day-to-day financial transactions and lead the team
* Monitor Work In Progress and cost analysis
* Assist the Head of Finance with budgets and forecasts and other ad-hoc analysis, such as sales performance
* Control fixed assets and report on any capital expenditure
* Assist with year-end audit and other year-end processes
Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant with experience of a Management Accountant and FM role in a manufacturing / engineering or distribution business
* Broad management and financial accounting experience
* Comfortable leading a small team of staff
* Highly IT literate and previous experience of ERP systems, such as SAP, would be an advantage
