Project Lead - Action for Freelancers

About the Role:

Action for Freelancers (AfF) is a collaborative initiative aimed at supporting freelancers in the UK television industry. As the Project Lead, you will play a crucial role in driving this pan-industry collaboration forward, working closely with stakeholders to address the wellbeing of freelancers.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the UK Broadcast TV freelancing community and experience working on complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and deadlines. Strong organisation, time management, and networking skills are essential, as well as experience in project management and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of AfF's workstreams, ensuring clear objectives and outputs are met.
  2. Manage relationships with members and partners, identifying future participants and overseeing funding and payments.
  3. Collaborate with ScreenSkills to develop The Freelancer Hub, a platform bringing together resources and support services.
  4. Work with the British Screen Forum to explore international approaches to freelancer engagement.
  5. Develop and deliver successful programmes and projects in a UK Broadcast TV environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of the UK Broadcast TV freelancing community.
  • Excellent organisation, time management, and networking skills.
  • Experience in project management and research.
  • Awareness of Competition Law and ability to ensure compliance.

Practicalities:

  • This is an initial 1-year contract for 4 days/week, with flexible working arrangements considered.
  • 4-day per week salary: £73-83k per annum, with a full-time equivalent salary of £85-95k.
  • The role will be hybrid, with some remote working and the office based at the Film and TV Charity's office in Golden Square, London.
