Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Psychology Graduate to join our team as an Autism Support Assistant at a reputable school in Surrey. As an Autism Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning difficulties, including autism, sensory impairments, physical difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and associated challenging behaviors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students with autism and other special needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans
- Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
- Support students with behavioral challenges and develop strategies to promote positive behavior
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment
Requirements
- Psychology Graduate degree or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in stressful situations
- High levels of empathy and compassion
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
