About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Instructor to join our Community Services team in Hertfordshire. As a Technical Instructor, you will play a vital role in assessing and treating patients in their own homes, providing equipment and interventions to support their rehabilitation and independence.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat patients in their own homes, using your expertise in occupational therapy to develop personalized rehabilitation plans.
  • Provide equipment and interventions to support patients' rehabilitation and independence, working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Travel to patients' homes across the locality, using your own vehicle (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
  • Manage your own caseload and documentation, using electronic records to track patient progress and plan interventions.
  • Work autonomously, making decisions about patient care and developing your own practice.

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • Car driver and access to a car for work purposes.
    • Good general education.
    • NVQ Level III, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge and skills of occupational therapy.
    • Willingness to undertake an NVQ or an equivalent qualification.
    • Previous experience of therapy rehabilitation of patients in hospital, rehab unit, or community setting.
    • Experience working with older people.
    • Rehabilitation skills.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Able to meet the required IT skills for the post.
