We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Paediatric Respite Nurse to join our team at James Hopkins Trust. As a Paediatric Respite Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide respite care to children with complex needs, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Work closely with families to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting independence and self-care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to identify changing needs and adapt care plans accordingly.
- Administer medication safely and accurately, maintaining accurate records and adhering to James Hopkins Trust's policies and procedures.
- Facilitate outings, play, and activities tailored to the child's age and development needs, promoting socialization and fun.
- Ensure the safeguarding of children is everyone's responsibility, reporting any concerns to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records, adhering to James Hopkins Trust's policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality control monitoring and auditing processes to ensure the safe delivery of care and maintain high standards through best practice.
- Registered Children's Nurse (RNC) or RN with Paediatric Experience (RGN/RSCN) and live entry on the NMC Register.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to maintain boundaries, and flexibility to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proven experience in communicating sensitively in challenging situations with patients and families.
- Ability to travel independently around Gloucestershire and willingness to undergo further training as required.

We are proud to be the only registered charity in Gloucestershire to offer this level of care, day and night, either in the family home or at Kites Corner, our multi-sensory respite centre and gardens.
