About the Role

James Hopkins Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Respite Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our nursing team, you will provide high-quality care to children with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic care to children and their families, working in partnership with them to meet their individual needs.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Administer medication accurately and safely, recording and storing it as required.
  • Facilitate outings, play, and activities tailored to the child's age and development needs.
  • Contribute to the development and audit of standards, identifying ways to improve practice and ensuring the safe delivery of care.
  • Participate in quality control monitoring and auditing processes, adhering to James Hopkins Trust's policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Registered Children's Nurse (RNC) or RN with Paediatric Experience (RGN/RSCN) and live entry on the NMC Register.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to maintain boundaries, and flexibility in working independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience in communicating sensitively in challenging situations with patients and families.
  • Ability to travel independently around Gloucestershire and work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
