Cardiothoracic Theatre Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetics Nurse/ODP to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our theatre team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our anaesthetic services.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with senior staff and multidisciplinary teams to maintain excellent clinical standards and staff development.
- Perform anaesthetic assistant tasks, following all checks and procedures as laid down in national and theatre policies.
- Support other members of the anaesthetic team and contribute to the overall performance of the team.
- Act as a mentor and support the continuing professional development of staff.
- Carry out relevant forms of care without direct supervision and demonstrate procedures to junior staff.
- Provide cover for other areas of the clinical team as required.
- Registered Nurse/Registered ODP qualification.
- Relevant anaesthetic course.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in anaesthetics.
- Sound knowledge of cardiothoracic and paediatric theatre practice.
- Experience of supervising junior staff.
- Knowledge of research and audit.
- Relevant experience within cardiothoracic theatres.
- Ability to demonstrate application of expanded roles/skills within a clinical setting.
- Ability to work within a team and independently.
- Flexible and able to work under pressure.
- Punctual and with a smart appearance.
- Pleasant disposition and caring nature.
- Enthusiastic and assertive attitude.
- Positive change agent.
