About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Cardiothoracic Ward at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized care to patients with complex cardiac and thoracic needs
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and efficient clinical environment
Requirements
  • Current RN (Adult) with NMC registration
  • Minimum 6 months post-registration experience within healthcare
  • Relevant post-registration course in ECG monitoring and interpretation (desirable)
  • Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification (desirable)
  • Mentorship course or equivalent (desirable)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous coronary care/cardiology or acute medical ward experience
  • Previous cardiothoracic care experience
  • Basic knowledge of CPAP, NIV, acute MI interventions, and treatments
  • Rhythm recognition and 12-lead ECG interpretation
  • Basic knowledge of post-cardiothoracic surgical care, care of chest drains, and care of post-surgical wounds
